Understanding the Properties File

Properties provide the User of the maps with information about a map and about the activities and deliverables on the map.

Most are added to the map by the mappers at the time the map is created or changed. Some are generated by the Triaster software as the map moves through the approval process.

The Properties File is used to define the set of properties that are available to the mapper and also the type of data expected. It contains a section for each shape type. Within each section, the properties can be grouped with a group name. The Properties Editor allows a user to edit the following three properties:

Activity Properties

The Activity Properties can be found by right clicking on any activity within a map and selecting 'Properties...'. In this example, the group People and Organisation contains the properties Responsibility, Accountability, Consulted and Informed. Any changes made in the Properties file under Activity Properties will impact what is displayed in this dialogue.
